Really enjoyed this gig at The Coffee Gallery Backstage on July 27th with Marty Axelrod and Jodi Siegel for Marty's "All Alone Again...With Friends" show. Jodi and I were Marty's guests. We joined him for a few songs during his set. Fun! And Marty and I played a new song we wrote called "The Zone". I'm a huge fan of both of these super talented and fab humans! Corey Lee Barker and I wrote "Blingle Bells" a few years ago and this past holiday season it was featured in these two Hallmark movies, "Road to Christmas" and "Hope at Christmas". 🎅🌲
Our Music Hugs event at the Gaslamp on October 14th was a huge success! We raised close to $15,000 for KIND (Kinds In Need of Defense). Thanks so much to all of you who came out and who donated. We couldn't have done it without you!
But that was only the beginning. The legendary band Sublime played two holiday shows at the House Of Blues in San Diego on December 29th & 30th, and donated a portion of the proceeds to KIND/Music Hugs, which brought our grand total to $20,000!
There's still so much to do to help these children and their parents. So, we will keep our Music Hugs organization poised to help in any way we can.

Michelle Mangione, John Diggins and I are hosting a benefit concert for the immigrant children who have been separated from their parents at the border to help pay for legal fees and social services. The event name is MUSIC HUGS (Musicians United in Support of Immigrant Children Held under Unlawful Government Separation) and it will be held on Sunday, October 14th from 4-7pm at The Gaslamp in Long Beach CA.
So many of our super fabulous fellow local musicians will be performing, including Marty Axelrod, Harold Payne, Sage Hill Singers directed by Megan Eddy, Joey Sykes, Mark & Lacey Wood, RedRoots, Pawn Shop Kings, and so many others will be volunteering their time for the cause, as well. We couldn’t be more grateful to all of them. Brian Pothier, Steve Soest, Angela Riggio, Lori Cerasoli, Wendy Fuld...
The benefit will also feature opportunities to win a variety of great prizes, including autographed rock and roll paraphernalia, guitars, gift certificates and merchandise from local businesses.
100% of the proceeds will be donated to KIND (Kids In Need of Defense) and a representative from KIND will be speaking at the event.
This will be an afternoon of great music for a great cause. Hope you can join us!
Suggested donation at the door will be $20.00
